¹⁶ So those who [now] are last will be first [then], and those who [now] are first will be last [then]. ^[a]For many are called, but few chosen.

¹⁷ And as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside along the way and said to them,

¹⁸ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and scribes; and they will sentence Him to death
